FOLK MAGIC
Folk magic is one of the foundations of my work, with healing, protection, and blessing at its heart. Within Ritual Therapy, folk magic becomes a way to make everyday life more sacred, more grounded, and more aligned with the good that is being called forward for you, your family, and your home.
WHAT FOLK MAGIC IS
Folk magic is the lived, practical spirituality of everyday people. It shows up in:
-
Prayers, charms, and simple rituals.
-
Blessings for homes, families, and work.
-
Protective practices for thresholds, sleep, travel, and transitions.
-
Healing work that tends to body, spirit, and relationship.
This is not about spectacle or performance. It is about the quiet, steady magic of caring for the ones you love and the places you live.

HEALINGS, PROTECTIONS, & BLESSINGS
The three pillars of folk magic in my work:
Healing
Folk magic for healing supports:
-
Emotional and spiritual tending around grief, stress, and life changes.
-
Rituals that help the body and spirit feel more resourced and held.
-
Practices that honor the deep work of recovery and becoming.
Protection
Folk magic for protection supports:
-
Clearing and safeguarding your home and personal space.
-
Rituals around sleep, travel, work, and major life transitions.
-
Practices that help you feel more steady, boundaried, and spiritually safe.
Blessings
Folk magic for blessings supports:
-
Consecrating your home, kitchen, bed, and daily rhythms.
-
Marking seasons, milestones, and new beginnings with sacred attention.
-
Inviting more gratitude, abundance, and goodness into ordinary life.
FOLK MAGIC IN RITUAL THERAPY
-
Consensual: nothing is done without your clear agreement and comfort.
-
Ethical: oriented toward healing, protection, and blessing, not harm or control.
-
Personalized: shaped by your own spiritual path, beliefs, and boundaries.
Sessions may include:
-
Simple rituals for protection, blessing, or healing tailored to your situation.
-
Ways to work with thresholds, rooms, objects, and daily routines as sacred.
-
Reflection on what “magic” and “sacred” mean in your life right now.
-
Integration of folk magic with your existing spiritual or religious practices.

FOLK MAGIC NATURALLY OVERLAPS WITH
-
[Folk Medicine]– where remedies and care practices also carry intention for healing and protection.
-
[Sacred Homesteading] – where thresholds, kitchen, hearth, and home rituals become daily magic.
-
[Eco-Spirituality & Animism] – where land, plants, and more-than-human beings are part of the web of blessing and protection.
-
[Ethnobotany & Research] – where plant knowledge and cultural history inform magical practice.
-
[Evolutionary Biology & Ecology] – where ritual, story, and belonging are understood as deeply human needs.
Within Ritual Therapy, these threads are woven together based on what you need in a given season of life.
FAQ
Do I need to believe in magic for this to work?
No. You only need to be open to working with intention, story, symbol, and ritual in a way that feels meaningful to you. We move at your pace and within your worldview.
Is this compatible with my religion or spiritual path?
Yes. Folk magic here is meant to deepen, not replace, your existing beliefs. We work within your framework, your language, and your comfort.
Do you do spells for other people at a distance?
In this context, folk magic is offered as part of your own Ritual Therapy sessions, with your consent and participation. The focus is on empowering your own practice and path. Although, I often will do rituals with clients to empower their workings deeper.
